Oh, no, the last round of qualifying isn’t over yet. Here’s how things stand right now:
Everyone plays 10 games, so Mexico still has 4 games to play (Honduras and Panama at home and Costa Rica and the United States away), and if they can stay above the green line, they automatically qualify for Brazil. If they fall to 4th, they have a play-off match against New Zealand, and the winner of that match qualifies. 5th and 6th place do not qualify.
I guess it just goes with competing in the same part of the table and going after the same transfer targets.
